Prix Public, 28th International Posters Competition 2019.
Alice Franchetti (1991) and Giliane Cachin (1990) are two Swiss graphic designers based between Geneva and Lausanne. Their graduate projects, presented at the ECAL, both received a Swiss Graphic Design Prize.
The Cully Jazz Festival is an anual festival taking place in spring in this beautiful village located on the banks of Geneva Lake. For this new identity of the Festival in 2018, the two designers isolated what characterizes the festival, namely its setting and music. The setting is translated by cartographic representations creating flats that follow melodious lines all over the poster. Circles and straight lines inspired by music scores contrast with these meanders and beat the rhythm of the composition which reflects Cully just as much as jazz.
