Sous le soleil exactement

Topical selection of posters from the collection of the Town of Chaumont

The title of the exhibition Sous le soleil exactement [Under the sun, exactly], taken from the title song of the tv musical Anna (1967) featuring Jean-Claude Brialy, Marianne Faithful and of course Anna Karina, addresses this moving, geographic and shared space.

“Under the sun, not next door, not anywhere” says the song. By showing side by side posters of the Dutailly collection and  contemporary pieces, Sous le soleil exactement constitutes a space where memories are exposed and the conditions of recalling memories and a reflexion are created.

For the opening of the summer season, we aim at creating an itinerary  about the physical and metaphorical symbolism around the sun, its rays, the objects that irrigate in time and space and how artists and commissioners  addressed it in different places, different  times, yet under the sun, exactly.

Featuring works by  Frédéreic Teschner, Felix Pfäffli, Na Kim, Annick Orliange,, Formes Vives, Olivier Lebrun, Mathias Schweizer, Daniel Van der Velden, Maureen Mooren and many others.
