Program

Friday, October 17

Conferences:

Lettres Bruyantes, by Hélène Marian

From institutional design to concert posters in underground venues, via her FanArt exhibition presented as part of the Biennale, the typographer will showcase a practice shaped by experimental and noise music.

Books, Furniture, Images and Spaces – A Design for Readers!, by Grégoire Romanet

Grégoire Romanet explores the balance between function and poetry in his transdisciplinary practice, blending graphic design, scenography, furniture, and typography. He will present his unique creations: flying tables, signage totems, collaborative garlands, hybrid collage-furniture, and mobile structures that challenge traditional codes. These works question our relationship with public reading spaces and redefine the interaction between objects, images, and signs in these environments.

Choses lues, choses entendues, by Léonore Conte and Léo Carbonnet (Culture Moves Europe project)

As part of this talk, Léo Carbonnet and Léonore Conte will present their publication Things Read, Things Heard, and reflect on their research and cultural mediation residency at Le Signe, carried out under the “Culture Moves Europe” programme. Together with students from the DSAA Graphic Design and Cultural Mediation program at Lycée Charles de Gaulle, they will also offer a performative reading of the publication.

This work was produced with the financial assistance of the European Union. The views expressed here can in no way be taken to reflect the official opinion of the European Union.

MIDI à 7 heures

Concert-Talk Performance

As the Biennale comes to a close, this concert-talk performance will bring to life one of this edition’s iconic objects: the Moog Model-D.

On display since May at Le Signe, the Moog Model-D will be activated for one evening, offering a unique opportunity to hear its singular voice and to learn about one of the cornerstones of electronic music since the 1980s: MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface). With a musical theme drawn from film history, prepared and performed by Jean-Michel Géridan, Mike Vignacq and Benjamin Voillemin, this event will dive into the foundational themes of the Noise exhibition—through music, physical science, and the humanities.
